NYSTEEA petition for all who are interested in the total education of our students.
The STEM acronym has become popular in political, media, and educational circles. The intention of STEM is to be the collaborative study of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. However, the importance of Technology and Engineering education programs are being overlooked. Proposed STEM programs and pathways appear to lack support for Technology and Engineering Education.
Our feeling is: STEM Education without T & E is just more Science and Math. NYSTEEA has submitted a Policy Agenda to the NYS Education Department with recommendations that will put the T & E back into conversations and educational policies.
We are asking for your support in NYSTEEA’s goal to preserve the T & E in STEM, to prepare our children for college and career readiness in the global economy. NYSTEEA has created a petition that states our goals and are requesting that you please take the time to review and sign it.
The petition is located at: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/support-for-nysteea-recommendations-to-prepare-nys/ You may have to forward this to your personal email, since most school districts block web petition sites.
The petition website asks for donations after you sign. It records the signature first, so you can exit out after entering your information on the petition without making a contribution.
If you have any questions, you can contact me or any of our officers through our website www.nysteea.org. A copy of our Policy Agenda can also be found on the website.
On behalf of the students in New York State, thank you for your support. Please forward as you please.
