Position Paper

The New York State Technology and Engineering Educators’ Association (NYSTEEA) Advisory Council believes that technology education has a critical role to play in eliminating the gaps in math, science, technological literacy, problem-solving skills, and preparation for all technical fields while serving the needs of all students who are either entering the workforce from high school or continuing into post-secondary education. Expanding the role technology education can serve as an important first step toward addressing New York State’s need for a highly qualified workforce as outlined by the Business Council of New York. This bold step can help ensure that all students achieve technological literacy and skills.
